Jackson Yazell is a 2019 RHP/SS with a 5-8 155 lb. frame from Carlisle, KY who attends Nicholas County HS. Medium, compact present frame and build. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.67 seconds. Primary pitcher, hand raise into windup, drives well off of backside, heel-lander with open toe, compact max-effort arm stroke to three quarters slot release. Fastball worked 76-80 mph with good heaviness and arm side life, showed good feel for his changeup with tumbling action, also landed deep curveball for strikes. Mixed and matched three pitches effectively for strikes. Hits from even-based stance with rotational lower half mechanics, flat path through zone, hands work okay into swing, showed good plate coverage skills with ability to work to all fields. Worked out in the infield, snaps down at hips into deep funnel, hands work well, quickness to release, clocked up to 79 mph across the diamond. Very good student.
