Jonathan Ursuy is a 2022 1B/RHP, 3B with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Oakland Township, MI who attends Rochester Adams. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.65 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, fields the ball out front and shows balance to actions, works through the ball nicely and shows a longer arm stroke through the back. Also pitched, works quickly on the mound, uses a leg lift just up past belt, shorter arm stroke through the back working to a three-quarters slot. Fastball topped out at 81 mph, mostly true in life, projects for additional velocity with physical growth. Short shape to curveball up to 70 mph, flashed a nice changeup at 69 mph with fading life to ahis arm side. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow in the box; utilizes a leg lift for timing at the plate. Low effort trigger and can continue to incorporate additional lower half into shift, creates nice extension out front at the point of contact. Long swing path through teh zone, turns over the barrel well and projects for nice power at physical maturation, worked comfortably to the middle and pull side parts of the field. Very good student.
