Sam Janis is a 2019 C/RHP, 3B with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Johns Creek, GA who attends Centennial. Medium frame with broad shoulders and a strong build. Primary catcher with a slightly taller, side set stance while receiving the baseball. Gains ground while workout out of crouched with quick footwork. Clean, fluid exchanges with a compact glove circle while working through transfer. Released from a high three-quarters arm slot producing accurate, on line carry to the bag topping at 76 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 1.85. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and simple front side trigger. Created some linear shift into contact with lower half. Simple, direct path to contact with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Utilized a gap to gap approach and flashed present bat speed and strength at contact. Ball jumped off the barrel well when squared generating solid carry to each gap. Excellent student as well.
