Colby Scott is a 2016 RHP/3B with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Bend, OR who attends Summit HS. Medium frame with a long, lean build. Projects well on the mound. Shows a compact arm actions from a high 3/4 slot. Creates downhill angle on stide to plate while filling the zone with a 4-seam fastball that ranges from 78-79 mph, topped at 80 mph. Slider is best pitch in arsenal showing very tight spin with good depth and tightness. Pounds the zone early with fastballs and uses slider as a put away pitch. Could mix an match more to keep hitter off balance early in counts. Maintained velocity well throughout all innings and produced quick innings. Right handed hitter with a very open stance. Aggresive hitter early in counts with a pull side approach. Lanches hands on an uphill plane to contact with the intent to lift the baseball to the gaps. Rotational lower half mechanics with the tendency to lose front hip early at times. Shows some bat speed with strength when front side stays on contact. Worked out defensively from the infield showing a taller approach to the baseball with good first step explosiveness to each side. Tends to sit back on routine groundball before working through and creating direction. Arm works well with loose actions that produce accurate throws across the infield, topped at 78 mph.
