Patrick Morrissey is a 2017 RHP/1B with a 6-4 230 lb. frame from Howard Beach, NY who attends Holy Cross. XL frame with extremely strong build throughout body. Had a dominant outing on the mound in this event. Pitches exclusively from the stretch, longer arm action, lots of force moving downhill with extreme leg drive, low three quarter arm slot, drops to near sidearm at times, explosive fastball out of hand at 84-87 MPH. Extremely tough to pick up due to slot, big time life on pitch as well. Works up in zone and got tons of swings and misses on FB alone. Slider shows bat-missing ability, 10/4 shape with big break and sharpness. Absolutely lights out here. Hits from slightly open stance, generates good bat speed and leverage at contact, lots of raw strength in swing, drove the ball deep at times. Named to 2016 Sunshine Northeast Top Prospect List. Good student.
