Brelin Carroll is a 2016 2B/SS, OF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Arlington, TN who attends Arlington. Medium, athletic frame with wiry strength and good room to fill out. Posted a 7.32 seconds 60 yard dash time. Hits from wide-based stance, slightly open front hip, lower hand set and shorter stride into swing. Drifts onto front side some but does do good job of firing hips, catches the ball out in front and turns the barrel well. Mid-gap carry at present that will get better with additional strength; overall quality bat-to-ball skills. Worked out defensively both in infield and outfield. Shows solid range to both sides in IF, gets to ball well and fields cleanly, gets off quick release with IF velocity up to 77 MPH. Waits back on ball in the OF, fields cleanly but doesn't work through it, quick step release with solid arm strength up to 82 MPH on throws to 3B and home.
