Brian Perkins is a 2018 SS/RHP with a 5-11 140 lb. frame from Coppell, TX who attends Coppell HS. Very slender young build, lots of room to get stronger. 7.23 runner, short and compact arm stroke, makes the plays when he gets in front of the ball and gets his feet set, still working on his balance when moving laterally, accurate throws. Left handed hitter, sound hitting fundamentals with good balance and an easy on time shift, short and compact swing with pull side to mid-field line drive contact, has the swing base to improve if he can get stronger. Also pitched, big leg raise delivery that he balances well, long arm action in back, repeats his mechanics. Fastball topped out at 75 mph, curveball had nice depth and was his best pitch, threw strikes and had two quality innings of work. Good student.
