2015 Northeast Top Prospect Showcase
Jared Zima is a 2016 C with a 5-10 185 lb. frame from Kensington, CT who attends Berlin HS. Medium, broad shouldered frame with present strength throughout frame, well proportioned. Ran a 7.97 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, receives out front, gains some ground with lower half but remains tall through release, short and compact arm action with a quick exchange, gets on top of throws, arm strength will continue to develop. Right-handed hitter, starts with a high hand set, slightly open stance and gets closed with stride. Upper body swing, full swing through the zone and consistently gets barrel to the ball. Uses strength well and looks to lift at contact, sound approach, barrel stays in the zone and shows ability to hit to all fields. Very good student.
