Trey Vento is a 2020 RHP/UT with a 5-10 205 lb. frame from Harlingen, TX who attends Harlingen HS - South. Thick broad shouldered build with good strength potential. Simple mechanics on the mound with a long arm takeaway and a quick arm stroke, will throw from multiple arm slots from 3/4's to side arm. Fastball topped out at 81mph, gets good riding life up in the zone. Has good feel for his curveball, changes arm slots and velocities frequently on it, curveball was deceptive and effective. Nice change up to left handed hitters with some fading action and good arm speed. 7.86 runner, plays multiple positions but should concentrate on one to improve the feel and fundamentals for the position, tools best profile as a catcher. Switch-hitter, showed better bat speed right handed with some strength when he squared up the ball. Good student.
