Jacob Hockemeyer is a 2019 RHP/OF with a 6-2 168 lb. frame from Burleson, TX who attends Centennial High School. Large frame, lean, projectable build, square shoulders, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Primary right handed pitcher, worked from the first base side of the rubber, crossfire element, large leg lift past belt, moderate hip coil, medium arm action through back, slight stab, and threw from a lower three quarter arm slot. Developing arm speed through delivery with a fastball that worked 75-78 mph with short arm side life. Worked aggressively inside on right handed hitters. Curveball showed good 12/6 shape and spin when thrown around zone at 66 mph. Needs to work through the ball more to increase effectiveness. Varied arm slot as well making it difficult to repeat delivery. Secondary first basemen, fielded with two hands with a short arm action and accurate feeds to the bases. At the plate, started with a tall stance, open base, high hand set, and deeper coil. Swing works primarily through upper half with raw bat speed, and flashed hand quickness. Pull oriented swing that would improve with additional lower half incorporation. Good student.
