Nick Breznak is a 2019 LHP/1B with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Lititz, PA who attends Lancaster Catholic High School. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and a long and lean build, room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.90 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, works out of the stretch, gets tall on backside and shows a quick tempo to delivery with ability to repeat. Short and quick arm action through the backside, works to a three-quarters arm slot and fills the strike zone with fastball, topped out at 81 mph and projects for more with additional lower half. Curveball showed nice bite down in the zone with tight rotation at 68 mph. Shows solid arm strength from first base too with a similar short arm action, clean arm and comes out of hand well, moves well off the bag and gets extended with throws out front. Shows two-way potential, swings it well from the right side too. Begins with a high hand set and back elbow in the box, uses a high leg lift trigger for timing and shows additional timing mechanisms to swing. Generates solid bat speed through the zone with the ability to create backspin and loft off the barrel with nice jump off the barrel. Attacks the baseball and shows intent in swing, best contact to pull side and uncoils well into contact, consistent carry when squared. Very good student. Named to Mid Atlantic Underclass Top Prospect List.
