Matt Morello is a 2020 C/UT with a 5-11 195 lb. frame from Flemington, NJ who attends Hunterdon Central. Large frame with physical, strong present build; lots of strength throughout body. Ran 30 yard dash in 4.10 seconds. Sets up to hit from open stance with high hands and back elbow, stays short to the ball in hand path and has big time bat speed, hands work very well into swing, gets on positive launch angle and drove the ball consistently with lots of strength off the barrel. Worked up the middle and to the pull field, showed consistent jump off the bat and took a very consistent round overall. Worked out behind the plate, higher set, shows quick transfer and release, has quality arm strength and his arm works well back there, threw 75 MPH with good accuracy around the bag. Named to 2017 Northeast Indoor Showcase-NY Top Prospect List; very good student.
