Zachary Mills is a 2018 RHP/1B with a 6-3 210 lb. frame from Brooks, GA who attends Whitewater HS. Extra-large, broad shouldered build with present physical strength proportioned throughout frame. Primary righthanded pitcher, begins with a simple rock step moving into a high leg lift above belt; works with a full arm action through the back while getting to a three-quarters release point. Fills the zone with fastball and topped out at 79 mph with occasional running life to arm side, mostly true in life. Gets on top of ball and creates plane to arm side, short curveball with 11-5 shape. Front side opens early at times in release, pitches to contact, flashed short life to changeup at 71 mph. Shorter arm action at first base on throws, fields the ball out front and comes out of hand well with carry across. Righthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Simple shift into contact, tight swing at start before getting extended, shows looseness out front at point of contact. Linear swing plane through the zone with line drive contact to all fields when on time. Good student.
