2006 California Underclass
Michael Bradvica is a 2007 LHP/1B from Claremont HS, residing in Claremont, CA, with a 6'3" 175 lb. frame. He has a quality pitcher's build that is long and lean with room to fill out. Bradvica pitches from an over the top slot with a clean arm action and shallow backside arc. His arm speed is decent, but it is the arc and uncomplicated arm action that are more applicable to his future development. Mechanically he falls a little to the 3rd base side and will benefit in many ways when he can learn to hold his front side longer, which will provide him some leverage. That will come with more physical maturation and consistent coaching from a quality pitching coach. Bradvica displayed decent command and has good arm side run on his upper 70s FB which can be little sneaky because his tempo on the mound is relaxed. He has good feel of a 67 mph change-up but his best pitch is a big 65 mph CB. He is going to gain mph's on that CB as he develops more strength and front side leverage, but the shape currently exists to make it a quality college pitch. Bradvica should be considered a follow for small/medium size D1 programs. Check back on him this summer because he is really just learning to pitch in the last half a year.
