Geo Rivera is a 2019 RHP/OF with a 6-3 215 lb. frame from Williamsburg, VA who attends Lafayette HS. Thick and strong broad backed build, long armed look, pretty mature physically. Calm slow paced delivery, loose extended arm action with a 3/4's slot. Mid-80's fastball topped out at 87 mph and has been up to 90 mph this summer, got its best sinking action at 84-85 mph, works the ball low and lets his sinker work for him. Showed good feel for both a slider and a curveball, both pitches have good depth for their velocities and some sharpness to their bite. Fills up the strike zone and is effective. Showed his arm strength well from the outfield. Right handed hitter, upper body rotational swing, has some juice when he's squared up with the ball, will run into some mistakes and drive them. Good student, verbal commitment to Old Dominion.
