Zachary Martinez is a 2019 RHP/MIF with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Glendale, AZ who attends Mountain Ridge HS. Smaller middle infielder's build with good breadth in his shoulders. Drop and drive delivery with lots of lower half rotation, throwing across his body and creates horizontal angle, long and fast arm, extended 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 92 mph, pretty straight, works the outside half to right handed hitters well. Big breaking soft slider has good spin and is landed for strikes, flashed a developing change up. Threw lots of strikes and was effective. Pretty polished young pitcher. Good student, verbal commitment to Arizona.
