Gio Cueto is a 2021 C/3B/OF with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Belen Jesuit Prep. Strong athletic build. Has sound actions behind the plate that he repeats very well, simple footwork blocking and receiving, receives the ball cleanly out front with a quick exchange and release, gets on top of his throws well, good athlete who has played other positions in the past but catching is his future. Right handed hitter, hits from a slightly open stance with a leg lift trigger, quick and direct to the ball, like his catching fundamentals repeats his swing and timing well, has the ability to back spin the ball with his strength. Solid all around player. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Wake Forest.
