Jake Cheeseman is a 2022 SS/RHP, 2B with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Delran, NJ who attends The Kings Christian. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength to frame. Ran a 7.14 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields the ball out front, works through the ball nicely and shows a quick transfer and release; repeats actions and shows athleticism, has the ability to drop arm slot and shows a quick transfer and release. Also pitched, high leg lift up past belt and gets tall on backside; compact arm action through the back working to a three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 79 mph, cuts the fastball at times, occasionally mistimed coming down the mound but worked around the zone and pitched to contact; flashed a curveball with short depth up to 66 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow in the box with a slightly open and narrow stance. Moving parts in load, short stroke once getting the barrel out and shows carry coming off the barrel. Showed ability to adjust to off speed in game, comfort working to pull side and middle of the field, best contact when extended out front. Very good student.
