Carsten Finnvold is a 2021 LHP/ with a 6-0 150 lb. frame from Boca Raton, FL who attends American Heritage. Long, athletic build with room to fill out. Left handed pitcher only. Employs a small side step to belt high leg lift staying slightly flexed at gather going to drop and drive actions down the mound landing online with the plate and staying online with the plate through finish. Displayed a longer arm action in the back going to an extended three-quarter arm slot at release getting extended out front well at finish. Showed easy, repeatable mechanics throughout the outing. Features a three pitch mix tunneling all three from the same release point keeping hitters guessing and off balance consistently. Showed a fastball with good control to both sides of the plate with consistent arm side run and sink up to 82 MPH complemented with a 12/6 curveball with short depth and sharp break at 70 MPH and a tumbling change-up with good fade creating a lot of swing and miss at 70 MPH. Excellent student.
