Ben Medley is a 2020 3B/OF, P with a 6-3 170 lb. frame from Marietta, GA who attends Pope. Showcased an extra large frame with broad shoulders and long legs. Physically filled out already. Very Projectable. Ran a 6.83 second sixty yard dash. Primary Thirdbaseman fielding the baseball out front staying down in his legs. Flashed good footwork while always balanced. Whippy arm action as he it showed carry across the diamond. Accurate from all angles. Secondary Outfielder working aggressively to the baseball while under control. Athletic throughout gather and transfer getting the ball out of hand in a hurry. Very strong arm up to 90 mph with throws on the bag. Secondary Righthanded pitcher showing simple mechanics with a belt high leg lift and weight on the backside before driving down the mound. Gets over his front side well as he delivered from a true three-quarter arm slot. Long arm circle in the back with a fluid, easy velo type arm. Filled up the strikezone early with the fastball that showed arm side run topping out at 84 mph. Curveball proved to be a good pitch as well as he delivered from the same arm slot as the fastball getting swings and misses. Righthanded hitter starting with an open stance and low hands. Utilizing the upper half. High leg kick looking to do damage as he showed an uphill swing plane. Good extension with bat speed showing. Keeps barrel behind the baseball. On time consistently creating loud contact. Great baserunner with aggressive instincts showing. Named to Southeast Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
