Jake Scheid is a 2017 SS/RHP with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Bradenton, FL who attends IMG Academy. Large frame with a lean, slender build with lots of projection and room to fill remaining. Posted a 6.95 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary infielder, showed quick hands with a good first step and the ability to throw from all angles. At the plate, started with a wide base and a leg lift timing mechanism. Inconsistent timing of barrel release, line drive swing plane with hand speed through the zone. Attacks the ball with elasticity and drive through his lower half with good power potential. Also pitched, showed a quick arm from a high three quarter arm slot with a fastball that worked 76-78 mph. Was also confident in a 12-6 curveball for strikes and feel for the pitch.
