Caleb Hines is a 2019 LHP/1B with a 6-0 178 lb. frame from Wylie, TX who attends Plano East HS. Medium frame with a lean build and room for more strength to be added. Primary lefthanded pitcher with good arm speed and the arm works well. Heavy sinking life on the fastball that topped out at 81 mph. Opens up a bit early and has looseness to the arm and room for some glove side adjustments to clean up the release. Low effort delivery with some deception. Good direction to the plate with an online delivery. Throws a lot of strikes and mixed in both a 2/8 curveball and a changeup. Ground ball approach and pitcher. Lots of chases and swing and miss on the breaking ball. Good student.
