Sergio Alaniz is a 2015 2B/SS with a 5-7 154 lb. frame from Johnston, IA who attends Johnston HS. Short young build with come compact strength. Right handed hitter, leg raise trigger, upper half rotational swing, sees the ball well and handles the barrel, flashes some strength at contact when he gets his pitch, made consistent game contact, covers the plate well and hits to all fields, should continue to improve with additional strength. Same solid fundamentals on defense, has good footwork moving laterally, charges the ball with balance, good hands, accurate throws.
