Ethan Wood is a 2021 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-7 215 lb. frame from Danville, KY who attends Danville. Extra long and tall build with long arms and legs and lots of physical looseness. Varies slot between high 3/4's and side arm almost randomly and throws his whole pitch arsenal from both slots, long and loose arm action, very athletic for his size and does a good job of repeating his mechanics from both slots and throwing strikes. Fastball topped out at 94 mph from up top, can still low 90's from lower, lots of heavy life from both slots. Frisbee slider from lower slots tightens up when at higher releases. Developing change up. Threw lots of strikes from both slots and had a couple of easy and clean innings. Will eventually need to find his identity as a pitcher but the stuff is solid at present. Good student, verbal commitment to Louisville.
