Danny Zimmerman is a 2017 RHP/IF with a 6-4 235 lb. frame from Redondo Beach, CA who attends Redondo Union HS. Extra big and strong build, thick throughout. Works from the stretch, medium effort delivery with a deep arm action in back, slightly closed at landing. Fastball up to 88 mph, very heavy sinking life, induces lots of weak ground ball contact. Threw both a curveball and a slider, slider was the tighter pitch this day with good tilt and depth, tended to get under the curveball with softer spin. Has potential as a right handed hitter, hits from a narrow stance with a big shift in and a full, aggressive swing, hands can be late starting at times, has big pull power and leverage when he connects, looking to pull the ball. Good student, verbal commitment to Michigan.
