John Alvarez is a 2016 OF/ with a 5-8 145 lb. frame from Solon, OH who attends Solon. Young, wiry, lean build with room to fill out and add strength. Bats right-handed, works from a balanced, slightly open setup and likes to use his hands. Has a compact swing path to the ball and uses an aggressive approach in game action. Makes contact consistently and flashes solid bat speed. Throws from a lower slot in the outfield and repeats well. Moves quickly to the ball and takes good routes. Very good student.
