Nate Payne is a 2018 RHP/OF with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Seymour, TN who attends Seymour HS. Long and lean young build, projects well physically. Long and loose arm action, high 3/4's arm slot, uses his lower half well in his delivery and stays on line, good upper and lower half coordination and timing. Fastball topped out at 82 mph, mostly straight but with good downhill angle. Curveball was his best pitch, had feel for it between 68 and 74 mph, tight spin and good sharpness. Knows how to mix pitches and change speeds and looks. Ingredients are there for big improvement with additional strength and physical maturity. 6.98 runner, showed his athleticism well in the outfield in drills. Right handed hitter, short contact oriented swing, middle of the field contact. Good student.
