Mason Kasprisin is a 2019 OF/RHP with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Joliet, IL who attends Joliet West. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build and wiry strength. Projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Primary outfielder with smooth paced, deliberate footwork while closing to the baseball. Clean glove actions while working through the baseball. Long arm circle and released from a high three-quarters slot. Throws produced accurate, on line carry topping at 83 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance and simple leg lift trigger. Created some linear shift into contact. Showed good bat speed on a level, line drive plane through extension. Stays balanced throughout and employed a mid field to pull side approach. Consistently stayed behind the baseball and worked to finish with fluidity. Also pitched showing a simple rock step to high leg lift delivery. Stays flexed on back side and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Released from a high three-quarters slot and carries momentum to glove side at finish. Fastball produced good downhill plane through the zone with some run to arm side, topped at 81 miles per hour. Curveball showed 11/5 shape with solid spin and good depth. Consistently changed speeds and effectively kept hitters off balance. Good student as well.
