Gage Dempsey is a 2017 C/3B with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Midland, GA who attends Columbus. Large frame with quality, athletic build throughout and good projection remaining on frame. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.38 seconds. Hits from open-based set, crouched over slightly into stance, line drive swing plane with solid bat speed, attacks the ball out front with good aggressiveness. Squared quite a few balls on a line right back up the middle. Shows willingness to use the entire field. Worked out defensively behind the plate. Solid set with good flexibility in hips, stands up into throw down mechanics and crow hops forward, has very quality arm strength with throws from behind the plate up to 76 MPH and pop times as low as 2.00 seconds. Very good student.
