Daniel Rivero is a 2016 RHP/1B with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Davie, FL who attends Pembroke Pines Charter HS. Lean and loose athletic build, plenty of room to get stronger. Upright delivery with a high 3/4's arm slot and some upper body lean off at release, pitches tall and works downhill, can use his legs and lower half better to help generate velocity. Upper 80's fastball, topped out at 90 mph, mostly straight with occasional cutting action. Nice change with lots of taling action, has feel for his change up and can spot it. Curveball still developing, will cast it occasionally with upper body lean, can show some 10/4 depth at times. Still relatively young to pitching full-time and keeps improving. Good student, verbal commitment to Miami.
