Alex Arauz is a 2017 SS with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Sarasota, FL who attends Sarasota HS. Strong athletic build. 6.88 runner, fields out front with soft hands on defense, smooth defensive actions through the ball, has a quick transfer and good footwork throwing with a nice release, polished overall defensive skills. Right handed hitter, spread bent knee stance with a high back elbow, short and efficient swing path, limited lower half shift, line drive swing plane, pull to mid field contact, ball comes off the barrel pretty well and he has some power potential. Good balance of offensive and defensive tools.
