Haziel Cruz Mendez is a 2021 OF/2B with a 5-10 163 lb. frame from Caguas, PR who attends Colegio Notre Dame. Medium frame with a lean, athletic type build. Ran a 6.61 second sixty yard dash. Primary Outfielder, showing great first step instincts as he proved to have range laterally. Attacks the baseball as he scoops it up while carrying momentum into throws. Quick transfer and then threw it 84 mph with carry while being accurate to the bag. Fundamentally sound in his outfield play and projects here going forward. Right-Handed Hitter, starting balanced while slightly open with the front side. Utilized a low, deep leg lift to stride as the hands stay quiet. Fires hips and works into a slightly uphill swing path as he impacts the baseball out front with authority. Proved he could drive it gap to gap for power as he found the barrel consistently. Projects even more power down the road with a strength gain. Great Student. Named to World Uncommitted Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
