Logan Wood is a 2019 RHP with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Loxahatchee, FL who attends Royal Palm Beach. HS. Large frame with a strong, athletic build. Projects for additional size with strength. Primary right handed pitcher with a simple side step delivery. Stays balanced on back side at gather stays in line with the plate while working through extension. Tends to land at a slightly open position with front side at times creating occasional swing with front hip. Releases from a compact three-quarters arm slot with a fastball that flashed some sinking action between 70-74 miles per hour. Has good feel for a curveball offering that showed 11/5 shape with good rotation and depth down in the zone. Also flashed a changeup with some sinking action at 65 miles per hour. Developed good feel for all three pitches with the ability to work each edge of the plate as outing continued. Right handed hitter with a crouched, even stance and toe tap trigger. Hands load to a deep position. Lower half launches to contact with rotational actions to contact. Loose, extended swing plane through the hitting zone with a mid-field approach. Created best contact when separated at contact to the outside edge of the plate and working the baseball from the middle of the field to the the opposite field gap. Good student as well.
