Dane Black is a 2020 RHP/1B/OF with a 6-2 205 lb. frame from Key West, FL who attends Key West HS. Large frame with broad shoulders and some strength to the build. Primary righthanded pitcher with a high three-quarters arm slot and has some effort to the delivery. Arm works well and stays online in the delivery. Long arm stroke and has good flexibility and athleticism in the delivery. Fastball topped at 84 mph and had some riding life to it. Gets off the mound and fields position well. Tight 11/5 curveball with good spin and sharp break. Settled in nicely in terms of command and located fastball to both sides. Maintained velocity well and has a strong two pitch mix. Arm strength played nicely from secondary position of first base. Righthanded hitter with an upright, narrow base, high hand set, and high back elbow. Consistent hard contact and creates nice separation. Big shift and utilizes lower half nicely. Can drive the ball well when it comes together on time. Good student.
