Gary Mattis is a 2016 SS/2B with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Davie, FL who attends St Thomas Aquinas HS. Medium, highly athletic, lean build. Ran a 6.72 60 yard dash. Makes highly athletic defensive plays in the infield and will make the acrobatic play routinely. Hands work well and shows above average arm strength. Good lateral agility. Also moves well in the outfield. Bats right-handed, works from a wide base and hips open early. Hits hard line drives to the middle of the field and the opposite field. Flashes strength and bat speed. Good student. Named to Top Prospect list.
