Marcelo Mayer is a 2021 SS/OF with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Chula Vista, CA who attends Eastlake. Long and athletic build that is starting to fill out with plenty of more room to get stronger. Very smooth defensive player, has silky and fluid actions that are never rushed, fields cleanly out front and can throw quickly from multiple arm angles, quick and compact arm action, made on of the defensive plays of the summer up the middle while playing second base to highlight his athleticism and creativity. Left handed hitter, hits from a spread and slightly open stance, limited lower half shift into contact, loose explosive hands create lots of bat speed, aggressive hitter who attacks early in the count and is looking to pull the ball, ball comes off the barrel hard, has projection as a hitter with additional strength and adjustments.
