Trystan Rodriguez is a 2020 SS/RHP with a 5-7 135 lb. frame from Corpus Christi, TX who attends Flour Bluff HS. Young and slender build. 7.22 runner, light on his feet on defense, moves to the ball well and shows range to both sides, fields out front with a quick exchange and release, can change arm slots on the move, arm strength still developing but has defensive tools to develop. Right handed hitter, has simple and repeatable swing mechanics, quick hands and a short path to the ball, squares the ball up consistently with a sound up the middle approach. Also pitched, side arm slot, works from the stretch, works to the middle of the plate with a 70 mph fastball and soft sweeping slider. Has good athleticism and should continue to improve as he gets more physically mature. Good student.
