Spencer Roach is a 2018 2B/RHP, 3B, SS, OF with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Cape Coral, FL who attends Cape Coral. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Frame shows plenty of room for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 7.56 sixty yard dash. Primary second baseman with fundamental, athletic footwork while surrounding the baseball. Clean glove actions while funneling the baseball out front. Fluid glove to hand exchanges while working through transfer. Showed good first step angles when working to each side with developing range. Released from an extended arm action topping at 77 mph across the infield. Throws generated some carry to the bag with accuracy. Right handed hitter with a balanced stance, high hand set and leg lift trigger. Creates slight coil and wrap with front side at load creating good torque. Flashed bat speed and barrel whip through the zone on a line drive plane through extension. Primarily worked the middle of the field producing line drive, ground ball contact between the outfield gaps. Also pitch employing a simple side step to leg kick delivery. Shows a high energy arm action while working to the plate. Fastball flashed good tilt through the zone with occasional arm side run with depth in the mid 70's, topped at 79 mph. Flashed a slider in the low 70's with good spin and solid tilt when working to glove side. Consistently filled the strike zone while effectively changing speeds throughout each inning of work. Good student as well.
