Alexis Calderon is a 2016 RHP/SS, 3B with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Bethlehem, PA who attends Liberty HS. Large, athletic frame with long limbs, broad shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill out. Ran a 7.29 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, shows a short arm action through the back with a high three-quarter release point. Balanced and repeatable delivery, remains tall on the back side before driving online towards the plate, incorporates lower half and creates good extension out front. Fastball shows downhill plane with some running life to arm side, topped out at 84 mph and attacked hitters. Gets down in the zone and induces ground ball contact. Changeup shows good downward action and fade at 67 mph. Also threw a changeup in upper-60s with 11-5 shape and short depth, will occasionally slow arm on the pitch. Long strides in the infield, fields out front and gets on top of throws from short arm action with accuracy and strength across. Right-handed hitter, starts with a square stance and pulls hands back at start of swing. Generates bat speed coming through the zone with line drive swing plane, shows an approach in the box and the ability to use all fields. Very good student.
