Mark Kneece is a 2017 LHP/OF/1B with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Pelion, SC who attends Gilbert HS. Has a medium frame and a lean and athletic build, room to fill out more physically as he continues to put on additional muscle. Posted a 7.24 60-yard dash. Primary left handed pitcher that throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with good arm speed. Generates very good downhill action while maintaining deception and drive from the lower half. Showed a good idea on how to pitch and produce weak contact. Fastball has natural arm side run and works low in the zone. Showed a 1/7 curveball with big break and depth. Slider has solid break, good secondary pitch. From the outfield, has good footwork and quick action to and through the baseball. Throws should good strength and carry on throws. At the plate, left-handed hitter that starts with an open and spread stance. Limited load, short compact swing. Has a pull side approach with natural lift at the point of contact, showed good strength and bat speed. Could see even more loud contact as he continues to incorporate lower half and get consistent extension through the baseball. Outstanding student.
