Braxton Garrett is a 2016 LHP/OF with a 6-3 190 lb. frame from Florence, AL who attends Florence HS. Long and lean athletic build, projects physically. Simple mechanics, stays compacts and repeats well, pause and balance at the top, 3/4's arm slot with a quick whippy arm coming through. Upper 80's fastball, topped out at 90 mph, gets good cutting action glove side, has been up to 91-92 frequently this summer. Curveball is his best pitch, has sharp biting action and tight spin, has an advanced feel for shaping and locating and over matches quality hitters with it. Flashed a change up that can be developed at the next level. Highest level pitching prospect. Good student, verbal commitment to Vanderbilt. Named to the Perfect Game All-American Classic team.
