Zackary Byron is a 2016 LHP/ with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Kingsport, TN who attends Daniel Boone. Highly projectable large frame with wiry strength and athleticism throughout. Primary pitcher, shows quick arm with athletic delivery, shows athleticism needed to repeat delivery despite some effort throughout mechanics, scapular load with longer arm action to low 3/4 slot, works quickly and shows advanced overall feel for pitching. FB worked 79-82, touched 83, with heavy life to arm side along with some sink when commanded down in zone. Excellent feel for the SL, working in the low 70's with the pitch, did outstanding job of commanding SL to both RHH and LHH to get swings and misses consistently. Excellent self-awareness on the mound with the ability to make adjustments at bat to at bat. Hits from open and narrow stance, smaller stride, shows good hands with solid bat speed, quick wrists, short to the ball with line drive contact ability and more strength coming in swing. Named to 2015 Atlantic Coast Top Showcase Top Prospect List. Good student.
