Alex Shipman is a 2016 C/OF with a 5-7 122 lb. frame from Lakeland, TN who attends Houston HS. Small very young build, minimal present strength. Left handed hitter, good swing mechanics, uses lower half well, aggressive swing, gets the barrel out well, fluid loose extension, beginnings of some bat speed, should definitely to continue to improve as a hitter with additional strength. Catching mechanics/footwork are also athletic and sound, gets rid of the ball quickly, accurate throws, willing blocker, arm strength still developing. Nice young athlete with a promising future.
