Oscar Montolio is a 2015 3B/C with a 5-10 195 lb. frame from Coral Springs, FL who attends J. P. Taravella HS. Strong, medium build with broad shoulders and a mature, physical build. Primary third baseman, shows sound actions with a good first step, stays down on the ball showing smooth actions and ability to throw accurately from multiple arm slots. Quick feet behind the plate, blocks well in dirt, smooth strength and exchange, gains ground well, on line throws with carry. Arm strength will continue to develop. Right-handed hitter, shows an upper body swing with a relaxed stance at the plate. Short and quick path to the ball with strength and carry coming off the barrel to the middle and opposite parts of the field. Covers the plate well and shows ability to go with and drive the outside pitch. Good student.
