Josh Stephen is a 2016 OF with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Newport Beach, CA who attends Mater Dei HS. Medium athletic build with some present strength. 6.94 runner, easy and athletic actions on defense in the outfield, sound fundamentals, moves through the ball comfortably, makes accurate throws with some carry and raw arm strength. Left handed hitter, late hand drop load and low hand start, moves into contact well but will drift to contact at times, short and crisp line drive swing plane, hits to all fields with a polished high average approach and has a feel for the barrel. Good student, verbal commitment to Southern California.
