Zach Odell is a 2016 OF with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Royal Palm Beach, FL who attends Royal Palm Beach HS. Medium, athletic build with broad shoulders and a lean, projectable frame with room to fill out. Runs well, posted a 6.88 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, short and quick steps to the ball, fields out front and works through it well, full arm action with a lower slot release, accurate throws to intended base. Shorter arm action from the infield, gets on top of throws and shows accuracy across with carry, longer strides ranging to either side. Right-handed hitter, starts with high hand set close to body and a small leg lift trigger for timing. Keeps hands in throughout swing, short path to the ball and does a nice job of staying through the ball. Sound mechanics and repeats them well, occasional lift out front, contact approach with feel or the middle and pull side parts of field. Good student.
