Jake Latz is a 2014 LHP/OF with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Lemont, IL who attends Lemont Twp HS. Long slender young build, very projectable physically. Athletic delivery, big stride but retains downhill plane, long smooth arm action, hides ball well, repeats mechanics. Varies velocity and movement on fastball, topped out at 90 mph but gets move 2-seam movement at times in the mid-80's, can pitch with his fastball. Excellent change up with life, lots of swing/miss on change up, sweeping curveball with hard spin and nice depth, three present pitches and has deception and command. Hitters didn't have much chance, impressive performance. Good student, verbal commitment to Louisiana State.
