Jorge Velez is a 2013 2B/SS with a 6-1 155 lb. frame from Ponce, PR who attends Next Level America HS. Young athletic build, lots of room to get stronger. 7.11 runner, long extended arm action defensively, developing arm strength, shows some lateral range and softness to his hands. Right handed hitter, rotational swing, gets good extension out front, will pull off at times with upper cut swing plane, best contact when staying level and working the middle of the field, should continue to improve with additional strength. Good student.
