At 6-2, 180, Barnett has a nice loose body with some good projection to it. He throws with a full, long arm swing and displays some looseness and flexibility in his arm. Barnett’s fastball was steadily between 83 and 85 mph in Chapel Hill with some late sinking action to it. His curveball was 69-70 mph, and while the release point was good and consistent, he could develop some tighter spin to it. He's pretty athletic and there's no doubt that he can pitch at a very high level. Ryan is a good student as well.
