Michael Kubanda is a 5'10" left handed pitcher from Sugar Land, Texas, who also showed some good ability as a switch-hitting outfielder. He incorporates a full turn in his delivery with his chin tucked into his shoulder, and does a very good job of hiding the ball from the hitter. Kubanda’s release point is a little below standard ¾, and this gives him consistent running action on his fastball down in the strike zone. Kubanda’s fastball was 79-80 mph on the gun. His 68-69 mph curveball looked like a quality pitch, with good spin and, like his fastball, good location down in the zone. Kubanda cruised through 2 innings with very little effort. At the plate, Kubanda is a rare left handed throwing switch hitter who shows good bat speed and a sound approach from both sides of the plate. He had slightly better raw bat speed from the right side, but showed some loft and power potential from the left side. Michael is a solid student as well.
